Animate Intro

Animate… it’s POWERFUL. It’s not just for animating images- it’s a whole programming platform. So let’s learn about Awesome Animate and how NOT to make crummy Flash!

I'm honestly not even sure if you can see this. Anyway. Something I liked about this project was how it helped me familiarize myself with Animate's tools and panels. If I were to do this assignment again, I'd love to figure out how keyframes worked. If you were to do this assignment, be careful not to get confused with how to export the project. I'm still pretty confused myself.

Animated Logo

Awesome logo design is cool… ANIMATED logo design??? SUPER COOL!!!

Something I liked about this assignment was how black rectangle dissolves into the circle and shows the logo's face looking thing. If I were to do this assignment again, I would try to figure out why the text kept morphing into something weird and also actually use Shape Hints so the text isn't distorted. If you were to do this assignment, just ditch the included text and make your own so you don't have to worry about Shape Hints and the really weird catastrophic morph thing that the text does with a normal Shape Tween.

Video Production

I told you it was powerful! Learn to import, export, and tweak video projects on the way in and out of Flash!

Something I liked about this assignment was how it used other programs like Adobe After Effects CC to render the background used in this project. If I were to do this assignment again, I would mess around more with the Motion Easing to make it more fluid. I would also use Adobe Premiere Pro CC instead, but that isn't what this assignment says. If you were to do this assignment, make sure the stage is set to the correct settings and that you export the project with the correct settings.

Classic Animation

Of course, Animate CC18 does amazing animation at very small file sizes. Learn to create simple additions to a customer’s website that really add polish!

Something I liked about this assignment was how the grass (somewhat, since tweens are broken) is fluidly moving, as if there was wind blowing across this hill on a sunny day. If I were to do this assignment again, I would add more things, like wind, or animate the sun to have rays. If you were to do this assignment, have fun with it, and be careful with Shape Tweening, since it's a bit awkward to use in CC 2018.

Interactive Web Ad

Make a cool ad that works on ANY device by programming for HTML5 Canvas! OF COURSE ANIMATE WORKS FOR IPHONES!

Unfortunately, due to Z: Drive file permissions, I can't export this project properly. All I can show are screenshots. Something I liked about this assignment was how (seemingly) easy it was to use the Actions panel to program a button to work in Adobe Animate CC. If I had to do this assignment again, I would not use the Electric Revenant example and would use my own content, but probably not in an advertisement. If you were to do this assignment, don't worry that the Test button doesn't work, because it doesn't at school. Don't question it either, just question why the heck you can't save any form of text document in the Z: drive except Word documents.

Program your Phone!

Create a simple app that runs on Android, iOS, and Desktops using one programming interface and application- Animate CC17!

Accessibility is about making everything as simple as possible, planning the project elements to be learnable, efficient, memorable, and satisfying for the user, learning that input type, browser, OS, and screen resolution all affect the way users view rich content, identifying potential user concerns through user stories, and conducting usability tests with real users.
One method of making sure everything is accessible to everybody would be labeling important assets like images and buttons, logically ordering tabs and high contrast colors for sight impaired users, captioning videos, and not relying on images or color because browser, operating system, and screen resolution matter.

Something I liked about this assignment is how it was very easy to (develop) an app for Android. If I had to do this again, I'd make a more interesting app that didn't zombie screech every time you tapped the screen. If you were to do this assignment, make sure you don't have an iPhone and you use an Android phone instead. Joining the Apple Developer's Program involves owning a Mac and paying Apple $100+ a month. With Android, testing an app is free. You can probably see where I'm going with this.

Planner Cover Design

Design Competition to create a Planner Cover for the 2019-2020 school year using Adobe InDesign.

Wow, this made a comeback. Anyway, something I liked about this assignment was how it was easy to use Adobe InDesign to create a planner cover design. If I had to do this assignment again, I would basically do the same exact thing again. If you were to do this assignment, keep backups of your Z: drive for future reference. It could be very helpful.

Graduation Program Cover Design

Design Competition to create a Graduation Program Cover for the 2018-2019 school year using Adobe InDesign.
(uh..Illustrator.)

Woah, I actually did this! Something I liked about this assignment is that it was easy to use Adobe Illustrator to make a Graduation Program Cover Design. If I had to do this assignment again, (cough..I will next year.) I would change up some things. If you were to do this assignment, (you will) I would recommend that you make sure it looks nice so that the graduating class will have something flashy and aesthetically pleasing to look at.
